The BMW i3 is BMW’s first mass-produced zero-emissions vehicle. Richard Kim styled its passenger module. It launched in 2013 in Leipzig after debuting as a concept at the 2011 International Motor Show Germany.
How it works, in terms someone would actually use
It is a rear-wheel drive electric hatchback. The driver sits in a carbon-fibre reinforced polymer passenger module mounted on an aluminium chassis. Power comes from an underfloor lithium-ion battery pack. An optional petrol range extender is available.
