The Mercedes-Benz 600 is a full-size ultra-luxury limousine line, styled by Paul Bracq in the 1960s, built from 1963 to 1981. It succeeded the Adenauer as Mercedes’ flagship. Its pneumatic self-levelling suspension and hydraulic amenities demanded a bespoke 6.3 L V8. Only 2,677 were built. Short-wheelbase models were owner-driven; long-wheelbase and limousine variants were for chauffeurs. At launch in 1963, it was the most expensive car in the world.
The E21 is the first-generation BMW 3 Series. Paul Bracq designed it. It launched in June 1975. It ended production in December 1983. It replaced the 02 Series. It was built exclusively as a two-door sedan or coupé. It did not offer a Touring variant. Six-cylinder models used quad round headlights. Initial engines were carburetted four-cylinders (1.6 L, 1.8 L, 2.0 L). Fuel injection debuted on the 320i in late 1975. The 323i introduced fuel-injected six-cylinders in 1978.
The Mercedes-Benz W113 is a two-seat luxury roadster/coupé introduced in 1963. It replaced the 300 SL and 190 SL. It was marketed as the 230 SL, 250 SL and 280 SL. Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi co-designed its patented concave hardtop — the source of the 'Pagoda' nickname. All models used a fuel-injected inline-six engine. Aluminium was used on the bonnet, boot lid, door skins and tonneau cover to reduce weight. 48,912 units were produced, with 19,440 sold in the US.
