Volvo 240

Jan Wilsgaard · 1974

The Volvo 240 was one of the two models of the 200 Series, introduced in autumn 1974 as a two- or four-door saloon and an estate. Designed by Jan Wilsgaard, it kept the 140's body shell behind the cowl and added a crumple-zone nose, MacPherson strut front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. It outlived its 260 sister and stayed in production until 14 May 1993.
