The W126 is the second-generation S-Class, designed under Bruno Sacco at Daimler-Benz AG. It launched in 1979, added the C126 coupé in 1981, and ran until 1991 — the longest and highest-volume S-Class generation. It introduced ABS as standard, early airbags, hydropneumatic suspension, and distinct chassis coding.
