Dodge Challenger (1970)
Carl Cameron · 1970
The 1970 Dodge Challenger is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive E-platform pony car. It launched in autumn 1969 for the 1970 model year. It shares its platform and body styles — hardtop and convertible — with the Plymouth Barracuda. It is longer than the Barracuda but not mechanically distinct. It is the first of three generations bearing the Challenger name — the second being a rebadged Mitsubishi compact (1978–1983), the third a full-size muscle car (2008–2023). Production of the third generation ended December 22, 2023.
