Hummer H1
AM General · 1992
The Hummer H1 is a full-size, four-wheel-drive utility vehicle based on the M998 Humvee, developed and built by AM General. It was produced from 1992 to 2006, rebadged as the Hummer H1 under GM's 1999 marketing agreement, and powered by multiple V8 engines — gasoline and diesel — with varying displacements and configurations. Production occurred at AM General’s Mishawaka, Indiana facility, and ended in June 2006 due to impending diesel emissions regulations. The vehicle was offered in several body styles including soft top, four-door hard top Sport Utility Truck, and Alpha Wagon.
