Fiat Coupé

The Fiat Coupé is a front-wheel drive two-door, four-seater designed by Chris Bangle at Centro Stile Fiat and built by Fiat between 1993 and 2000. Production ended with 72,762 units. It launched with 2.0 L 16V four-cylinder engines, added 1.8 L and five-cylinder 2.0 L variants in 1996, and received updates including a Variable Inlet System in 1998. Special editions included the 1998 Limited Edition with body kit and titanium grey details, and a 2000 1.8 L European edition marketed as elegant and affordable. Its design prioritised silhouette over packaging. It did not solve front-wheel drive compromises. It changed expectations of what a mainstream coupé could look like—and how long it could endure without reinvention.
